Vasileios Vlachakis

He had been studying Physics, for one year (2001-2002), at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Then, he studied Surveying and Geodesy Engineering, for five years (2002-2007), at the same University.
He got the professional license of Surveying Engineer by the Technical Chamber of Greece and subsequently then he followed a postgraduate program in High Precision Surveying Applications, for a year. Again at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. After his military service (2009) at the Hellenic Army, he worked for one year (2010) for a construction company, being in charge of the surveying support to a highway construction site, in Southern Greece.
Later on, he worked as a freelancer for two years in various applications concerning the domain of land surveying. In 2013 he was employed by the French company SINTEGRA to be attached at CERN as a surveyor in the Experiments Group of the Large Scale Metrology section.
Since March 2014 he is CERN Fellow, involved as an Early Stage Researcher (ESR) in the PACMAN project and PhD Student at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich.
